The Resort Location
Pinehurst is a quaint New England style village in central North Carolina and the Home of American Golf, including the historic Pinehurst Resort. Founded by James Walker Tufts in 1895, a large portion of the central village is designated a Historic Landmark District for its landscape design by Frederick Law Olmstead, and its significance in the history of golf in the United States.
Airport, Accommodations, & Amenities
Moore County Airport is the gateway to Pinehurst and Southern Pines, North Carolina. With a 6500 foot runway, multiple precision approaches, and modern terminal facilities, it provides a relaxed learning environment. As a non-towered general aviation airport with on field clearance delivery, taxi times are minimized so that training time is maximized.
With its low fuel prices, on field maintenance, and FAA Designated Pilot Examiners nearby, the airport is a turnkey solution for pilots training for an instrument rating or commercial certificate.
The Carolina Hotel
This majestic century-old hotel will make you feel as though you have stepped back in time. With its Four Diamond rating the “Queen of the South” is located steps from the heart of the Village of Pinehurst. In addition to the Carolina Hotel, lodging may also be at the picturesque Holly Inn, or Manor Inn depending on the season. As a member of Pinehurst Country Club my clients will receive a room rate of $125 per night plus tax including shuttle service. Hilton and Marriott properties also are available if you would like to use Rewards Points.
If you would like to schedule a break from your training, please take the time to enjoy the many amenities offered at the Pinehurst Resort. Golfers can choose from our nine championship courses including Donald Ross’s masterpiece Pinehurst #2, site of the 1999, 2005, 2014, and 2024 U.S. Open Championships. For non-golfers tennis, croquet, or the award-winning Spa might just be what is needed before exploring the shops and restaurants in the village.
